Unique treasures old and new at The Squash Court home emporium in Wimborne
I’ve just discovered The Squash Court in Wimborne and wanted to share this hidden gem as it really is a fantastic place for all things original and stylish. It’s the place I go to for inspiration for my home, as well as beautiful gifts.
Housed in a converted old squash court in Deans Court, their lovely showroom is packed with decorative antiques and furniture, contemporary ceramics and glass. They have one-off retro 50s lights, antique mirrors, vintage quilts and beautifully packaged toiletries too.
Outside there’s a cute little enclosed courtyard where they stock vintage garden furniture, galvanised garden tubs and old terracotta pots. Better still, if you’re there at the weekend, they stock the yard with seasonal produce from a local estate literally a stone’s throw from the shop – vegetables, fruit, herbs and cut flowers from the kitchen garden, plus eggs, honey and preserves, tubs of spring bulbs and even logs.
If you time it well you can also have a look around the gardens at Deans Court where the produce comes from. They open their grounds several times a year as part of the NGS open gardens scheme.
